Getting Started

What is NutriBrownRice®?

NutriBrownRice® is a 100% plant-based brown rice drink with prebiotic fibre.

Every flavour starts with a brown rice base and chicory-root inulin, a natural prebiotic fibre, then combines them with ingredients like purple sweet potato, avocado, oats or cocoa across our five flavours. Prepare it warm or cold as an easy everyday ritual.

Is NutriBrownRice® medicine or a health supplement?

No. NutriBrownRice® is a plant-based brown-rice food beverage with prebiotic fibre, designed to complement a varied, balanced diet and healthy lifestyle. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. If you have a specific health condition, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or are on medication, please consult a doctor before use.

Is NutriBrownRice® a meal replacement?

No. Think meal complement, not meal replacement.

A complete meal normally provides a broader combination of protein, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, minerals and other nutrients. NutriBrownRice® is designed to complement your everyday diet with brown rice, dietary fibre and prebiotic inulin. It can be convenient at breakfast or on busy days, but it's best enjoyed alongside a varied and balanced diet rather than routinely replacing complete meals.

Which flavour should I start with?

It depends on your palate — Original is the simplest everyday classic, Avocado is creamy and gentle, and Chocolate is the most familiar starting point if you're used to sweeter drinks. Purple Sweet Potato carries the most prebiotic inulin of the five, and Oat leans into a familiar breakfast flavour.

Can I drink NutriBrownRice® every day?

Yes, it can be enjoyed as part of a varied, balanced diet.

One mug a day fits easily into your routine — a gentle, warm, comforting daily habit. Individual fibre needs and tolerances differ, so if you're new to higher-fibre foods, you may prefer to increase your intake gradually.

When is the best time to drink NutriBrownRice®?

There isn't one required time. Many customers enjoy NutriBrownRice® with breakfast, between meals, during a busy workday, or as something warm and comforting in the evening.

The best routine is the one you can maintain consistently.

Ingredients & Prebiotic Fibre

What is prebiotic fibre?

Prebiotic fibre is a type of fibre that feeds the beneficial bacteria already living in your gut.

NutriBrownRice® contains inulin, a natural prebiotic fibre from chicory root. As part of a balanced diet, prebiotic fibre is commonly associated with supporting digestion and a healthy gut microbiome. Inulin helps increase intestinal bifidobacteria.

What's the difference between prebiotics and probiotics?

No, NutriBrownRice® is not a probiotic — it contains prebiotic inulin.

Probiotics are live microorganisms that, when administered in adequate amounts, confer a health benefit. Prebiotics are substrates used by those beneficial microorganisms. NutriBrownRice® is positioned as a prebiotic drink because it contains chicory-root inulin, which helps feed the good bacteria you already have.

What's the difference between dietary fibre and prebiotic fibre?

Dietary fibre is a broad category of carbohydrate components that aren't fully digested in the small intestine. Prebiotic fibre is more specific — it's selectively used by microorganisms in the body in a way that provides a health benefit. NutriBrownRice® contains inulin from chicory root, a recognised prebiotic fibre.

How much prebiotic inulin is in each NutriBrownRice® flavour?

Current amounts per serving:

  • Purple Sweet Potato — 10.4g
  • Avocado — 8.8g
  • Original — 7.0g
  • Chocolate — 4.9g
  • Oat — 2.2g

See our full ingredient breakdown →

Which flavour contains the most prebiotic inulin?

Purple Sweet Potato — 10.4g per serving. Among our current five flavours, it contains the highest amount of prebiotic inulin.

Does NutriBrownRice® help with constipation?

Purple Sweet Potato has the highest prebiotic fibre content in our range (10.4g per serving), and dietary fibre is generally recognised as supporting regular bowel movements as part of a balanced diet. If constipation is an ongoing concern for you, we'd recommend speaking with a doctor.

Why do I feel bloated or gassy when I first start taking prebiotic fibre?

Some people may notice gas or bloating when they suddenly increase their intake of fermentable fibre such as inulin. If your usual diet is low in fibre, consider increasing your intake gradually and maintaining adequate fluid intake. If symptoms are severe or persistent, stop and seek professional medical advice.

I experienced loose stools or diarrhoea after drinking NutriBrownRice®. Why?

NutriBrownRice® contains dietary fibre and prebiotic inulin. If your usual diet is relatively low in fibre, suddenly consuming more fermentable fibre may cause temporary digestive changes such as gas, bloating, abdominal discomfort or looser stools in some people.

If you're new to prebiotic fibre, consider starting with a smaller amount and increasing gradually while maintaining adequate fluid intake. If diarrhoea is persistent, severe, accompanied by other symptoms, or repeatedly occurs after consuming NutriBrownRice®, stop consuming it and speak with a healthcare professional.

Should I start with a full sachet if my usual diet is low in fibre?

If you're not used to a higher-fibre diet, you may prefer to increase your intake more gradually rather than making several large fibre changes at once. Maintain adequate fluid intake and pay attention to how your body responds. Use the preparation directions on the actual product packaging.

Can I drink NutriBrownRice® hot or cold?

Yes — either. NutriBrownRice® can be prepared with warm or cold water, whichever you prefer. Follow the amount of water recommended on your pack for the best texture.

Can I take NutriBrownRice® while on antibiotics?

Many people choose to continue their daily NutriBrownRice® habit while on antibiotics, since prebiotic fibre feeds your existing gut bacteria. We're not able to make medical claims about antibiotic recovery specifically — if you have concerns, it's best to check with your doctor.

Children & Family

Can children drink NutriBrownRice®? What age can they start?

NutriBrownRice® is a food beverage, not an infant formula or children's nutritional formula.

For older children who are already eating a varied family diet, NutriBrownRice® may be enjoyed as part of their normal diet. However, younger children have different nutritional and fibre requirements, and NutriBrownRice® contains meaningful amounts of prebiotic fibre.

Parents should check with their child's doctor or dietitian before introducing NutriBrownRice® to babies, toddlers or children with medical or digestive conditions. NutriBrownRice® should not replace breast milk, infant formula or a child's balanced meals.

Can pregnant women drink NutriBrownRice®?

NutriBrownRice® is a food beverage and is not a prenatal nutritional supplement or replacement for a balanced pregnancy diet or prescribed prenatal vitamins.

Pregnancy changes nutritional requirements, and individual needs can differ, particularly for women with gestational diabetes, digestive conditions, food intolerances or medically prescribed diets. Pregnant women who would like to include NutriBrownRice® regularly should review the ingredient and nutrition information with their doctor or dietitian, especially if they have a pregnancy-related medical condition.

Dietary Needs

Is NutriBrownRice® dairy-free?

Yes. NutriBrownRice® is 100% plant-based and dairy-free across the range.

Does NutriBrownRice® contain lactose?

No. As a 100% plant-based drink, NutriBrownRice® does not contain lactose.

Original and Purple Sweet Potato are currently our No Sugar Added flavours. Check the nutrition information on each product page for full details across the range.

Is it safe for people with sensitive stomachs?

Yes — NutriBrownRice® is made from gentle, natural ingredients like brown rice and coconut oil powder. Our Original and Purple Sweet Potato flavours are No Sugar Added, and the whole range is 100% plant-based and dairy-free. If you have a sensitive stomach or an existing digestive condition, we'd recommend starting with a smaller amount and checking with your doctor first.

Health & Dietary Considerations

Everyone's nutritional needs are different — especially when a medical condition, medication or prescribed diet is involved. The information below is general food information and is not a substitute for personalised medical advice.

Collapsible content

Can people with diabetes drink NutriBrownRice®?

People with diabetes don't necessarily need to avoid all carbohydrate-containing foods, but total carbohydrate, sugars, portion size and your overall meal plan matter.

NutriBrownRice® flavours differ nutritionally, so customers with diabetes should review the nutrition information for the specific flavour and consider it within their total carbohydrate intake. Several NutriBrownRice® varieties are labelled No Sugar Added, but No Sugar Added does not mean carbohydrate-free or automatically suitable for every person with diabetes. People taking glucose-lowering medication or following a prescribed diabetic diet should discuss significant dietary changes with their healthcare professional.

Does NutriBrownRice® help with acid reflux or gastric pain?

We're not able to claim that NutriBrownRice® treats acid reflux or gastric pain. It's a gentle, warm, fibre-rich drink that many customers find easy on the stomach — but if you have an ongoing gastric condition, please speak with your doctor before adding it to your routine.

Can people undergoing cancer treatment drink NutriBrownRice®?

Cancer patients can have very different nutritional needs depending on their cancer, treatment, medications, appetite, digestive symptoms and overall health. NutriBrownRice® is not intended to prevent, treat or cure cancer.

If you're undergoing chemotherapy, radiotherapy, surgery or other cancer treatment, please show the ingredient list and nutrition information to your oncologist or dietitian before adding NutriBrownRice® to your diet — especially if your medical team has prescribed a special diet or you're experiencing diarrhoea, digestive problems or difficulty eating.

Can people with gout drink NutriBrownRice®?

NutriBrownRice® is not a treatment for gout. Gout management depends on your overall diet, hydration, uric-acid levels, medication and other health conditions. Anyone with recurrent gout or a medically prescribed diet should review the ingredients and nutrition information with their healthcare professional.

Can people with kidney disease drink NutriBrownRice®?

Please consult your doctor or renal dietitian first. People with chronic kidney disease may be given individual limits for nutrients and fluids depending on kidney function, medications, dialysis status and blood results.

NutriBrownRice® flavours differ in their mineral composition — bring the specific nutrition panel to your doctor or renal dietitian and ask whether it fits your prescribed diet.

Weight & Metabolic Health

Can NutriBrownRice® help reduce body weight?

NutriBrownRice® is not a slimming product or weight-loss treatment. Its more useful role is as part of a sustainable eating routine — it provides dietary fibre, which can contribute to a more satisfying meal and form part of dietary patterns used for healthy weight management.

Body weight depends on many factors, including total energy intake, overall diet, physical activity, sleep and individual health. Think of NutriBrownRice® not as a shortcut to weight loss, but as a simple way to build a more nourishing, fibre-conscious routine.

Can NutriBrownRice® help lower high cholesterol?

NutriBrownRice® should not be presented as a treatment for high cholesterol. It contains dietary fibre and prebiotic inulin, which can form part of a healthy dietary pattern. If you have high cholesterol, please continue following your doctor's treatment and dietary advice.
